What a Week

This week's the new semester and I have classes that clashes here and there. One of my classes is clashing, not only with other classes but also my tuition class as well (If you were wondering, I'm in a tuition centre as the teacher not the student). I can't just quit my tuition for my classes because 1) Money for my classes and others 2) there's classes that does not clash together (but yet some are full). Class registration, this year, has seen a better light as the queue-cutters are not many compared to previous semesters, but nonetheless, there's still hope of improvements. One of which is a Beta Mode of Online Registration. We started with a test for the LAN units, but from the feedback we got was..there were only a handfull of people (3 - 5 I think). It's something new for everyone to try out Online Registration, but in a way we can look at it as a person signing up for an email account. You go online, sign up what ID you want with which options you prefer and 'vuolla!' (is it the correct spelling?).

New semester, we come with new spirit. Some say that we should be with new spirit always, some prefer the new 'umph!' to come at the beginning of the semester.

Soon would be the Prom Night organized by the Student Council of Curtin Uni..wonder who should I bring??? Probably this would be the first and last Prom I'll go to, because I've never been to a Prom..wait..actually I have..but it was while I was driving pass it only .
After the Prom would be another big project for us council, which is the Curtin Carnival. One is we hope that it would be grand (as usual), but on the other hand, even though it may look grand but it's the visitors that make it even worthwhile organizing it. It is planned to be around the month of September.

Oh yes, don't worry, there'll be photos, as usual, posted up on Multiply. Soon to come would be the Orientation for the recent Degreee and upcoming Foundation.

Talking about the Degree Orientation, it was a fun week for them..so I've heard..because I wasn't there fully..not because I didn't want to but I was giving a talk at SMK St Joseph, Miri along with Adrian, Aunty Dorothy, Alisha, and Vivien. Pictures may be up soon, as soon as I have the time to upload all the photos. There's a lot, so bare with me.

Students Inc is starting on the next publication and we need new members to join the crew. We were actually dated to publish it for the Orientation but, unfortunately and thankfully, 1) most of us were on holiday 2) we wanted to put in more stuff. All in all, we're looking for more crew members to join us and make it a success because this mag is aim for the students news and informing on any events.

I guess it's a bit long for now but no worries, I'll be back

Semester and stuffs

It's coming to the opening of the new semester for me and fellow uni students. This week and the next would be hectic as there are more to do. Class registration, orientation, talks, tuition...all in a week..hmm..this is where Time Management 101 comes in handy..hehe..I would either fail badly or pass with flying colours for this unit as sometimes people say I'm a multi-purpose working person, but we'll see..hehe..hopefully I won't explode before my end comes. Anyway, what's up? Next week orientation for new degree students, class registration for current students. Of course there would be those that come at 5.00 a.m. Yes, 5.00 a.m. I repeat again..5.00 a.m. morning, NOT night. Why you might ask? Because they want the classes according to what they have planned. Of course it's good to have the classes you want but it's crazy to have those who rush for the class registration. By the way, the class registration starts at 8.30 a.m. Of course there would be those queue-cutters, not only one by one queue-cutting but there are those who cut in groups. Is this what they mean by Uni of Tech? hmm...there's a thought. There are also those who are smart enough to have friends register them instead. hmm...I may not be joining in the queue-cutting moment as I'll be involve in giving talks with Adrian at St Joe. Only two of us la..I do hope I get the classes that I want and there's always Plan B.
It's the best feeling to give talks to those in need and those interested. Whenever you give a talk to a group of people/students, it feels exciting/fulfilling. I guess that's the feeling of speakers and lecturers when they give their talks.
The Witness Musical Drama is still on and we're in need of choirs/singers. So far it's been going great and the voices are...fuyo!!! Thanks to the efforts of our conductors and also to my Basses for teaching me.
Anyway, we'll just see how everything goes next week.

Superman Returns

Recently I went to watch Superman Returns with my sis and sis and her...hehe..It was great. For some fans, they might say it wasn't great but I say it was great. Maybe it wasn't great for some as it was more of an introduction towards relieving and reviving the Superman franchise back again after such a long time from the previous Superman by the late Christopher Reeves. Brandon Routh played it cool and calm. Tom Welling, however, has still stole the limelight for Smallville. Both actors are great because the different genre for both suits both of them Tom Welling is well sutied for the Teen Smallville and Brandon for Superman Returns.
In Superman Returns, there were a lot of promotion/advertising on TV and around town. There was even one on TV where the reporter interviewed a guy, he said that he doesn't wants to spoil the movie but "here's the bit, when Superman saves the crashing plane...that's when I knew...Superman returns." Suspense..it was funny. Anyway, the movie was great and sad at times. Whatever the commens, you got to give credit to the Director and all involved for really reviving the franchise back again. Looking forward for a possible second Superman.

Check it Out!!!

To all who are (actually) reading this,
Do wait for further uploads of pictures from me. I'll be posting it at http://ansovinus.multiply.com/. The pictures are CSS (Catholic Student Society) activities, LSS (Life in The Spirit Seminar), Easter Camp and etc... You may or may not remember me, as most of the pictures, I'm actually in it but just behind the camera (hehe!!!). There's a lot of pictures that I have taken through most of the events I went to. That's the wonders of having a digital camera (you get to take as much as your memory card has and choose which one to print out or post on Multiply (http://ansovinus.multiply.com), Friendster (http://ansovinus.blogs.friendster.com/), Blogger (http://ansovinus.blogspot.com/) etc...), but in this case, I've put in as much photos as possible. Do keep a look out for pictures and videos.

p/s: Sorry, there's limited personal photos (privacy thingy :-) )

Enjoy your day!!!

Blessed Easter

It's been awhile since I last updated something. We've just finished our Easter Rally 2006 aka ER2006. It was a great, fun, jumpy, crazy, emotional, wonderful rally. FR. Andy and Fr. John was there and it made the Easter Rally even more wonderful. Our CSS (Catholic Student Society, Curtin) did our Passion Play and we got a great number of response. They love it. It was enjoyable and meaningful for those who have watch it. Thank you CSS for all your hard work and sacrifice. In that night itself, I have finally got to send my assignments before the due time. I wanted to send it in the morning but was not at home, so I send it in the afternoon, but to my despair, the server for my assignment was down. I panic and thought why has so many things around me have started falling apart. Before this as well there was a lot that happen that it challenge my strength (literally also). But after our Passion Play, with the gracec of God, I received news that my assignments could be sent (YEAH!!!).
Indeed it was an emotional night for everyone on our final day, but we went out with a blast. The band was wonderful with each band member struting off their stuff. The signers sang with full heart, and so did the participants. They were jumping up and down, moving left to right, even side to side 70's style. The Festival of Praise started at 11.00 p.m. with the song, "Lord I Lift Your Name On High" and ended at 3.00 a.m. with the song "One Way".
One memorable weekend with the presence of the participants (400??), parents, FIAT Youth, CSS, Altar Servers, Kitchen Ministry, FR. Andy, Fr. John, and of course, our Hero, Jesus Christ.

Update

Orientation is almost over and classes are on. It's been busy for this few weeks as Curtin is going into 'happening' mode..hehe..
Have you ever felt that you miss someone but doesn't know who that person is? Do tell. I have that feeling as well but I can't really put my finger on who that person is. Probably a she or a he (but I'm not that...) It's really weird as you want to say who that person is but you don't know who is it. Weird!
Recently I have been having this peculiar moment, where I look at people and somehow they remind me of someone else that I once knew. It's like everywhere I go, I have that moment of seeing that someone. Well, that person is a she anyway. She's not around here at the moment. Is it missing that person or is she had made an impact on me? Hmm...ponder..ponder.. ?:-Maybe I'm just stressed out? Or maybe something else...
Class has begun and it's been well. As they say, your place of education is like your second house (or for some, maybe third/fourth..). As for council duty, it's been well with the exception of dutiessss...hehe..
Keep in touch later!
